eBooks
This section is about the benefits of ebooks:
- eBooks have the potential to transform access to books for blind and partially sighted people
- eBooks come in various different formats: not all ebook formats are supported by all ebook readers
- if eBooks are accessible they can be read in various ways: as audio, braille or large print, allowing you to choose the method that works for you
- text to speech uses computer-generated synthetic speech to read out an eBook, effectively turning an eBook into an audio book
- eBooks are available from online shops and some can be borrowed from public libraries
