RNIB’s Pete Osborne talks about his love of reading

Tue, 18 Sep 2012

Pete Osborne is the RNIB's Head of International Partnerships and Development and also chairs the Right to Read Alliance. Here he writes passionately about his love of books for the Society of Authors' blog:

"Until recently, the frustration of not being able to read the great books everyone talks about was a daily occurrence for me as a blind person. Like you, I love reading, so imagine the frustration of not being able to read the vast majority of books. Would you feel angry as you stand in a bookshop, drinking in that wonderful smell of books, only to be told there is very little, if anything, you can take away to read? Authors want everyone to enjoy their books, not to feel angry and frustrated because they can't read them."
