‘Read for RNIB’ record attempt

Mon, 10 Oct 2011

To celebrate the first Read for RNIB Day, RNIB have teamed up with Waterstone's and Walker books to break the record currently held in Vienna, Austria. The attempt will take place on Thursday 13 October at Waterstone's flagship Piccadilly store in London.

The book that has been chosen for the attempt is an exclusive, never published Anthony Horowitz novel, called "The Double Eagle has Landed". The book will be available in giant print, braille and standard print on the day.

Anthony Horowitz commented: "If you want to promote the fun of reading then make it fun, and attempting slightly crazy Guiness Book of Records feats are always fun!"

Read for RNIB Day on 14 October is aiming to raise awareness of reading services for blind and partially sighted people. RNIB is asking people to take part in and organise a number of reading themed events on this day and throughout the month of October.
