Details of upcoming IFLA preconference, theme: Let’s Read! Reading and Print Disabilities in Young People

Objectives

The conference will highlight the importance of delivering special library services for children and youngsters with print disabilities (e.g. visual impairment) or reading difficulties (e.g. dyslexia) and show you how to improve your services through co-operation and partnership with schools and reading associations.

Target groups:

  • librarians (specialized library services and public libraries)- teachers
  • national organizations working with dyslexia and other interest groups
  • other professionals working with persons with print disabilities
  • children’s librarians from the Nordic libraries for the print disabled

Topics

Have you developed and delivered an innovative service for blind,
partially sighted, dyslexic or otherwise print disabled child or teenager? Why did you
do it? What was different about it? Who was involved? What was the result?
Could you inform and inspire an international audience in just 15
minutes?
