Gruffalo author records audiobook

Thu, 22 Sep 2011

A children's book by Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson has been brought to life in audio and braille formats as part of a drive to make stories more accessible.

Julia Donaldson visited the transcription centre at RNIB Scotland and Insight Radio to record her book Freddie and the Fairy. Here you can listen to some of the recording process, the debates over character voices and how to tackle an ending told only through pictures and translating it for a blind listener.
