groupthing
groupthing is a safe, accessible social network for young people aged 13 to up to 18 to have conversations with other young people about reading, writing and words and where they can publish their own creative work. Based on all forms of words - magazines, non-fiction, manga, graphic novels, plays, scripts, music (lyrics), short stories, film, games, websites, blogs, journalism, fiction, poetry, spoken word and ‘how to’ manuals. If it’s got words in it then it’s welcome on groupthing.
groupthing has been developed with young people - they have been involved at every stage. They have helped to develop the website content and even helped to decide what it is called. It has also been developed with the RNIB to ensure that the site is accessible and that blind and partially sighted young people can also have access to all the fun!
groupthing professional offers libraries, schools and other organisations working with young people:
- the opportunity to have conversations with other professionals to extend and develop their work
- resources, ideas, competitions, give-aways and promotions to help engage young people in creative reading activities
