Large print is text of size 16 to 48 point size. RNIB refers to text sizes larger than 22 point as 'giant print'.

  • RNIB National Library Service - has giant print books and music scores for loan in 24 point type. This is a free postal library service.

  • Calibre Audio Library - offers a subscription free nationwide postal and internet library service of audio books on MP3 CD, USB memory stick and via internet streaming and downloads. There is a single administration fee of £35 for adults (£20 for children).

Braille is a well known format for reading by touch.

  • RNIB National Library Service - provides braille books and braille sheet music to borrow. Adults learning braille for the first time can also borrow short stories and practice pieces in uncontracted and contracted braille. This a free library service by post.
